The 2017 Carolina Kickoff Concert Rescheduled For Spring

Greenville, N.C. — Promoter Basis Entertainment announced Wednesday (Aug 2) that the 2017 Carolina Kickoff Concert, scheduled for August 19 in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, has been rescheduled to April 21, 2018.

“There were multiple factors that came into play when we made the decision to reschedule the concert to April,” explains Gary DeWaard, CEO Basis Entertainment. “There was much concern about the timing of the show in the market, as well as the potential damage that would come to the football field right before the football season begins, so we mutually decided it would be best to reschedule.”

Although the Carolina Kickoff has been rescheduled for April, Big & Rich, Parmalee and Tucker Beathard have agreed to perform a free show to those fans who have already purchased tickets. This additional concert will take place in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on August 19. Ticket holders will be contacted by email with information on how to claim their free ticket for this event.

“After being informed about the anticipated cost increase to replace the turf on Bagwell Field compared to last year and ticket sales, we support Basis Entertainment’s decision to reschedule the concert,” added ECU Associate Director of Athletics J.J. McLamb.

More information regarding the lineup and list of new artists for the rescheduled Carolina Kickoff will be made available within the next few weeks. Ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets, which will be honored at the rescheduled concert.
